    Hilt with brass guard featuring down-turned shell with grotesque mask and acanthus in
    relief, quillon block with grotesque mask, dog-head quillon, and knuckle bow joining the
    one-piece carved horn grip.  Brass cap pommel with small button, decorated with running
    stags in low relief.  Straight 23 3/4" single-edged blade with double fullers, double edged
    for the last 7".  Small boxlock flintlock pistol screwed to the blade, featuring tapering round
    screw-off barrel stamped with proof marks on the bottom.  Boxlock engraved with foliage
    and scrolls.  Long curved trigger with brazed repair.  Brass cleaned and steel parts with
    light pitting.  Overalll length 29".
