About this item
A rather sleepy Victorian 1854 pattern infantry officers sword, with 1845 pattern blade.
No makers marking to the blade, but a proof slug with a capital "H", and a serial number to the spine.
The guard is slightly mishappen, and has some dings. The grip in good condition, with minor losses to the shagreen which is bound with silver twistwire. No movement between blade and hilt.
The 32.5 inch blade is in good condition, exhibiting the usual VR and floral etching. Minor pitting towards the blades point. Dull grey colour overall.
Housed in its steel dress scabbard with twin hanging rings.
A good entry level sword which will improve with some TLC.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
