About this item
A recently uncovered Great War 1912 Cavalry Officers sword, in need of some love and attention.
The blade itself, by Charles Boyton&Son of Clerkenwell (Peace time silversmiths, who became a Limited Company in 1919, guranteeing this sword to be WW1 period.) is in suprisingly good shape. with good quality etching and only minor surface rust and grime.
The hilt has suffered, but could be cleaned and saved, all of the Art Nouveau engraving is still visible. The grip retains its shagreen covering, which will need cleaning and feeding. The wire binding is still present, but loose.
The brown leather field service scabbard will require recovering, although both ends remain intact.
If you are looking for a lockdown project, then this might be the sword for you!
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
