An interesting Home Guard Presentation Compass.
The compass itself is a private purchase version of a Verner's type.
The inside flap of the leather case bearing an presentation inscription in ink. It is difficult to decypher, but my best guess is:
"Presented to 2nd Lieut W.G.Bloomer By Officers, NCO's & Men of No 7 Platoon, B Company 36. ??? Warwicks, Home Guard"
Compass looks little used, in very good contion, and seems to be fully functional, although I make no guarantee on it's effectiveness!
Serial number to the rear ending in "/42" which may indicate the year of manufacture.
