About this item
A very good Elizabeth II 1897 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword.
This example produced by Wilkinson sword, likely during the 1960's. It doesn't carry a serial number, so is likely part of a bulk purchase for a military tailor, or government contract.
The hilt of standard 1897 Infantry Officers pattern. The plating to the guard is grubby and dull, but looks to be in good overall condition, with only minor blemishes. It should respond very well to a clean and polish if desired. It has had a sword knot fitted, although the acorn is now absent.
The 32 inch single fullered blade is well etched, and retains vacant panels to both sides. There are some areas of minor staining to the blade, particuarly towards the point on both sides, and the spine, which could be improved/polished out if desried.
Housed in its original Wilkinson produced Sam Brown Field Service scabbard. This is also in very good condition, free from any serious scuffs.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
