A commercially made Lee Metford bayonet, likely for a Volunteer unit.
Very good untouched condition overall. It is bereft of any makers or unit markings to the blade, matching marks to both sides of the pommel.
Housed in its original scabbard, which is a good fit with no shrinkage. The scabbard fitted with its original volunteer pattern frog, with stamped marks to the rear.
Old grease and grime to the blade and metal work, but only requiring a very light clean and polish if desired. I wish I could find them like this every day!
