About this item
A scarce Edward VIII British Court Sword.
Produced during the short reign of Kind Edward VIII before his abdication, one of only a handful produced, I cannot find another extant example.
This example retailed by "Griffiths, McAlister & Co. 10 Warwick St., Regent St. W1." who started trading from this address from 1932.
The gilt brass hilt with beaded knuckle bow, shell guard and urn pommel, retaining a good amount of original finish. The blade etched with, the ERVIII royal cypher, floral decoration and retailers name. Some areas of staining.
Small movement between the hilt and blade, common with this pattern.
It is complete with black leather scabbard with gilt brass mounts. A good fit, with some creases and wear, with movement in the mounts. Housed it its original chamois outer cover.
A rare opportunity for the collector, go find another!
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched. Please send this at the time of ordering, to prevent unnecessary delay in your order being dispatched.
