Victorian 1897 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword
A good, clean 1897 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword by Wilkinson Sword.
This example would suit a Boer war display, the serial number dating it to March 1899.
Regulation 1897 pattern hilt with crowned VR cypher. Chequered backpiece, shagreen grip free from loss and with only minor service waer, and bound with silver twistwire.
Single fullered 32 inch blade with Wilkinson makers details to one side, and "HW" proof slug to the other. Blade etched with standard floral engraving, royal coat of arms, and crowned VR cypher. Some old staining, and would benefit from a clean.
Housed in its original field service leather scabbard. It has an old working repair to the body of the scabbard just above the drag.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
