A good example Victorian Constabulary Police Sword.
Brass stirrup guard and shagreen grip are in good condition, the grip has split, and along with it the the shagreen, but all firm, with no movement between blade and hilt.
The curved, single fullered blade measures 23 inches, and is rather etched "PARKER FIELD&SON 233 HOLBORNLONDON" within a cartouche.
The blade with dark staining, and pitting to both sides of the blade in places, but with some bright areas, and could be improved if desired.
Complete with brass mounted leather scabbard in solid condition. Some minor scuffing, and a spilt to the stitched seam. The hilt mounted safety catch is working perfectly, and still locks the sword into the scabbard.
