About this item
An Original 1900 Boear War Christmas Gift Tin, complete with its original contents.
Dispatched to South Africa on the orders of Queen Victoria, so that every man serving, regardless of rank, would recieve a gift from Her Majesty.
The tins were comissioned from Cadbury, Fry's and Rowntree.
The chocolate retains its makers stamp, which looks to be Cadbury, although it is hard to make out. It appears somebody has nibbled half of the first two sticks of chocolate, and didn't have a sweet tooth. The rest remains intacts with its original waxed paper and straw wrapping.
A scarce survival, after 121 years!
