    About this item

An Original 1900 Boear War Christmas Gift Tin, with some of its original contents remaining.

Dispatched to South Africa on the orders of Queen Victoria, so that every man serving, regardless of rank, would recieve a gift from Her Majesty.

The tins were comissioned from Cadbury, Fry's and Rowntree.

The chocolate retains its makers stamp, which looks to be Cadbury, although it is hard to make out. Two half nibbled rectangles of chocolate remain, along with its original waxed paper, foil and straw wrapping.

Also included is a small newspaper clipping regarding these tins.

A scarce survival, after 122 years!
