About this item
An original 1916 dated British Army 1914 pattern leather equipment wire cutters carrier frog which has been converted.
This carrier has been shortened to hold a pair of pliers. The top section has been removed including the flap, most likely as the owner wanted a simplified carrier for his pliers. The reverse is maker marked 'A. Davis & Co' and bears the War Department broad arrow marking and 1916 date.
The pliers appear to have been with the carrier for a long time and may well have been paired during the Great War. There are no markings, save for the words 'Made in England'.
A nice period item which would make a good addition to a Great War collection.
