    For sale is a rare WW2 Period Flag Counters for the game/ Activity “Map Of Europe and flags of nations at war”. Unfortunately only the flags are present; 16 German Nazi flags, 14 British flags, and 15 French flags, all together 44 flags present.    The map would have been 1939 dated Map Of Europe and flags of nations at war produced by W & A.K Johnston limited Edinburgh and London. If this was complete it would comprise of one large a3 map, one envelope with the title “Map Of Europe and flags of nations at war”, one see through packet containing 22 flags. 6 ww2 german flags, 6 ww2 British flags, 6 ww2 french flags and 4 polish flags. These flags are made from a pin and the paper flag.   The firm of W. & A.K. Johnston was one of the major map publishing houses of the 19th century. William Johnston (1802–1888) and his brother Alexander Keith Johnston (1804–1871) originally trained as engravers, and founded the firm in 1826. Their offices were based in St Andrew Square in Edinburgh's New Town, with their printworks based at the Edina Works, off Easter Road. Keith Johnston became Geographer-Royal for Scotland in 1843, whilst William later became Lord Provost of Edinburgh and was knighted.   This will be royal mail 1st class signed for and dispatched within two to three working day’s.   Seller reference number J45 & box 1
