WW1 Death Plaque To George Phillip Bailey From Lancashire ASC

For sale is a WW1 Death Plaque To George Phillip Bailey. 

  George was born on the 14th of February in 1889 in Saint Cyprians, Edge Hill, Lancashire, England. George was baptised on the 23rd of March in 1889. George’s trade upon enlistment was a house painter. He was the Son of Fanny Bailey, of 68, Wraybum St., Earle Rd., Liverpool, and the late Thomas Bailey.   George enlisted into the British army with the royal army service corps on the 13th of March 1916. George served 2 years and 8 months with the army service corps motor transport company.    Unfortunately George fell ill with Influenza/ Broncho pneumonia and on the 8th of November 1918 he was transferred to the sick convoy 14th Division, Attached 42nd Field Ambulance. Sadly just five days later he died of his illness aged just 29 years old. He was Remembered with Honour at the ST. ANDRE COMMUNAL CEMETERY.    George was entitled to a British war medal and a victory medal but unfortunately these are missing.    Accompanying this medal is 17 scans of his service records.
