Deadstock WW2 US Navy N-3 HBT Utility Trousers - Size 38x31

A scarce original pair of United States Navy N-3 utility trousers which date from the Second World War and are in deadstock, unworn condition. 

This pattern of trousers was introduced in 1943 as part of the four piece utility uniform which was intended to be issued to shore parties, construction battalions, amphibious units, combat, and security units. Contracts for this pattern ceased in January 1945 making these a guaranteed wartime pair of trousers. 

The trousers are made from Olive Drab Shade 7 coloured 8.5 ounce cotton herringbone twill material and feature a five button fly which fastens with metal buttons. Frog mouth pockets are located to the front and belt loops are positioned around the waist whilst the rear features two patch pockets. The right hand pocket features the black 'USN' stencil always applied to this pattern of trousers. Inside the trousers the contract number of NSX59571 is present below which is the size of W38 L31. 

The trousers will suit a 38" waist well and when laid flat they measure - 

Waist - 19"
Rise - 13 1/2"
Rear rise - 18 1/2"
Inside leg - 31"
Outside leg - 43"
Cuff - 9 1/4"

The trousers are in stunning, unworn deadstock condition and would be very hard to upgrade. They have clearly never been worn and display extremely well. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-owned item. 

A fantastic example of this sought-after pattern of trousers which would be very hard to improve on.
