Original 1940s British Men's Grey Pinstripe Demob Trousers Size 32x31

An original pair of 1940s blue grey coloured striped men's wool trousers which were made as part of the demobilisation clothing scheme.

These trousers were likely made as part of a suit which would have been issued to a military man when they were demobilised from the forces. A full set of civilian clothing was provided for each man as he left the Army, RAF or Navy. The remnants of the label inside the rear pocket of the trousers confirms that they are demob trousers rather than standard civilian trousers. 

Typical of the period in every way, these trousers feature a high rise waist, button fly and turn ups to the bottom of each leg. The front of the trousers feature twin pleats and straight slash pockets whilst the rear features a single welt pocket which houses the demob label. Turn ups are located to the bottom of each leg as was fashionable during the mid-Century period and buttons are fitted around the top of the waist band to which braces can be attached. The trousers are made from a striking gray blue coloured wool which features a bold stripe pattern.

The trousers will suit a 32" waist and when laid flat they measure - 

Waist - 16"
Rise - 15 1/2"
Rear rise - 20 1/2"
Inside leg - 31"
Outside leg - 45"
Cuff - 10"

The trousers are in good condition with some signs of wear and use. Overall they display well and are totally wearable with no serious flaws or damage. There are however some small holes to the crotch and the leg as illustrated. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-owned item which may have other small flaws commensurate with age.
