About this item
An original pair of British Khaki Drill Trousers dating from the Second World War and in good condition.
These trousers are clearly locally made, or 'theatre' made and would have most likely been purchased by an officer from a local tailor. Made from the usual cotton drill material used for KD in this period, the trousers feature buttons typical of theatre made trousers from this period. They also feature a high-rise waist, wide leg, slash hip pockets,a twin pleated front and have waist adjusters which are all common features to find during this period. A false cuff, or 'turn up' has been added to the bottom of the trousers.
Being of private purchase origin there are no labels are markings. When laid flat the trousers measure -
Waist - 14 1/4"
Rise - 13"
Rear rise - 16"
Inside leg - 30"
Outside leg - 42"
Cuff - 10"
The trousers are in very good condition with signs of use or wear and use. The trousers have been crudely let out in the waist which could do with being neatened up. This has been reflected in the price. Please bear in mind that these are a vintage pair of pre worn trousers and may have small issues commensurate with age.
All in all a nice pair of original KD trousers which would suit a collector or re-enactor well.
