Original 1941 Dated RAF Khaki Drill Trousers - Size 11

A rare original pair of 1941 dated RAF Khaki Drill Trousers which are in good condition. 

Officially designated 'Trousers, Khaki Drill Airman (1937 Pattern)', these trousers saw issue with the RAF throughout the Second World War. The distinctive high rise back is a key detail which denotes these as the RAF pattern, along with the contract number on the label which confirms this. 

The cut is typical of pre-war trousers and mimics that of the wool RAF Ordinary Airman's trousers. Designed to be worn with the four pocket RAF Khaki Drill Ordinary Airman's tunic, the trousers are made from the standard tan coloured cotton drill material and feature stamped brass buttons throughout. Straight slash pockets can be found to each hip which is again typical of pre-war military tailoring. 

The original label is still present to the outside of the seat and bears the title of 'Trousers Khaki Drill' below which is the size of 11. The contract number of 292/C/N/412 is present as is the 1941 date. 

The original owner has added his name and serial number in ink inside the waistband which reads 1606736 Parker. Roland John Parker served with the RAF during WW2 and enlisted in Oxford after 1941. 

The trousers will suit someone of around a 36" waist and when laid flat measure - 

Waist - 18"
Rise - 14 3/4"
Rear rise - 17"
Inside leg - 30"
Outside leg - 42 1/2"
Cuff - 9"

The trousers are in good condition and appear to be very wearable. There are some signs of wear and use and some minor staining which is illustrated in the pictures. Overall they present well but please bear in mind that these are a vintage pair of pre-worn trousers which may have small issues commensurate with age.
