Original 1943 Dated Indian Made Jungle Green Battledress Trousers - Size 31x31

A rare original pair of Indian made British Jungle Green Battledress Trousers which date from the Second World War and are in good condition. 

This pattern of trousers was introduced into service in 1943 and was issued to men of both the British Army and Royal Air Force who were serving in the Far East in the latter part of the Second World War. Made from a cotton drill which was vat dyed a grey-green colour, the trousers have a similar look to denim trousers of the same period. They feature two straps and buckles to fasten the waist - the same style as used on KD shorts and trousers. A double pleated first field dressing pocket is located on the right hip whilst the left leg has a map pocket which features a single pleat - a feature unique to this pattern. The buttons are mostly the original factory fitted Indian made examples alongside of few period replacement British made stamped brass buttons. The rear of the trousers also features a pleated patch pocket which fastens with a brass button.

Inside the trousers there is a circular size stamp which bears the size number 7.

The trousers will fit around a 31" waist depending on desired fit. When laid flat they measure - 

Waist - 15 1/2"
Rise - 15"
Rear rise - 18"
Inside leg - 31"
Outside leg - 44"
Cuff - 10 1/4"

The trousers are in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. They show some signs of wear or use with various staining and signs of laundering. Overall they display well but please take time to study the pictures provided and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
