    About this item

An original pair of 1944 dated Indian made 1942 Pattern British Army Khaki Drill Trousers as used during the Second World War by the British Army and RAF.

This pattern of trousers came into use with the British Army during the middle of the Second World War and is one of the more sought-after patterns today. They feature a First Field Dressing pocket to the right hip as well as a button fly and brace buttons which are a different style to the others but still typical of Indian made military clothing of the period. Other notable features found on this pattern of trousers are the twin pleated front and rear and the extra buttons for the waist tab to allow for different fittings at the waist - a precursor to the cross belt design introduced in 1944 and used for many years post-war.

Inside the trousers the original stamps are still present and are typical of those found on Indian produced items from WW2. The circular date stamp is present to the rear of one of the pocket bags and bears the date of October 1944. The size stamp is also present and reads '12'.

The trousers will suit a 33" waist. When laid flat they measure -

    Waist - 16 1/2”
    Rise - 16”
    Rear rise - 18 1/2”
    Inside leg - 29”
    Outside leg - 42"
    Cuff - 9 1/2”

The trousers are in good, wearable condition for their age with signs of wear and use. They are still very wearable but have some stains etc. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that these are a pre-worn pair of vintage trousers which may have small flaws commensurate with age.

Altogether a nice pair of original Khaki Drill trousers which are a sought after pattern.
