Original 1944 Dated RAF War Service Dress Trousers - Size 30x28

An original pair of deadstock, unworn condition RAF War Service Dress Trousers dated 1944 in a size 00.

This pattern of trousers replaced the earlier 'Suits, Aircrew' (introduced in 1940) and was the standard working dress for all members of the RAF from 1942 until 1947 when the 'New Pattern' uniforms was introduced.

The trousers are made from RAF blue coloured wool serge and feature one rear buttoning pocket, a slash pocket to each hip and a first field dress pocket to the front left of the trousers. They also feature a button fly and have buttons around the inside of the waistband to which braces can be attached, all of which are the standard black plastic type used on RAF clothing during this period .

Inside the trousers the original label is still present and bears the title of 'War Service Dress Trousers' below which is the size as 00. The maker's name of 'City Uniform MNFG. Co.' is also present as is the War Department broad arrow marking and the 1944 date. 

When laid flat the trousers measure - 

Waist - 15 1/2"
Rise - 13"
Rear rise - 
Inside leg - 28"
Outside leg - 39"
Cuff - 8 1/2"

The trousers are in unworn, new old stock condition and are totally wearable. They display well with no staining or similar damage. The cloth is still the deep blue colour they would have been when first out of the factory and there are no signs of fading or washing. The only flaw is an extremely small being of a hole which is illustrated in the last picture and only noticeable under close scrutiny. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that these are a worn pair of vintage trousers which have small flaws commensurate with age. 

Altogether a very nice pair of original wartime pattern trousers in excellent condition and with a nice clear wartime date.
