Original 1945 Dated 1940 Pattern (Austerity) Battledress Trousers - Size 10 32x33

An original pair of 1940 Pattern (Austerity) Battledress trousers dated 1945 which are in excellent, unissued condition.

This pattern of trousers came into issue with the British Army in 1942 replacing the earlier 1940 pattern. These are an austerity pattern which don't feature belt loops, covered buttons to the pockets or tabs to the bottom of the legs as the earlier patterns did. They are made from the standard khaki green serge wool used for British uniforms during this period and are fitted with green plastic buttons, typical of 1945 manufacture. 

This particular example retains their original label to the seat which is bright and legible, testament to the excellent condition of the trousers. It bears the title of 'Battledress Trousers, 1940 Pattern' below which is the size of 10. The maker's name of 'Cohen & Wilks Ltd' is also present, as is the 1945 date and the War Department broad arrow. 

The trousers will suit a 32" waist and when laid flat they measure - 

Waist - 16"
Inside leg - 33"

The trousers are in fantastic condition with no signs of wear and use. They could be described as 'deadstock' or 'unworn' and would be very hard to improve on. They are very clean and have a fresh, bright appearance. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age. 

A fine pair of original wartime trousers which would suit a collector or re-enactor well.
