About this item
An original pair of 1940 Pattern (Austerity) Battledress trousers dated 1945 which are in good condition.
This pattern of trousers came into issue in 1942 replacing the earlier 1940 pattern. These are an austerity pattern which do not feature the belt loops, covered pockets or tabs to the bottom of the legs seen on the earlier patterns. They are made from the standard khaki green coloured serge wool used throughout this period and feature green coloured vegetable ivory (plastic) buttons.
The trousers no longer retain their original factory label but do still have the War Department WD stamp to the interior which is surmounted by the letter 'Z' which denotes 1945 as the year of issue.
The trousers will suit a 30" waist and when laid flat they measure -
Waist - 15”
Inside leg - 30"
The condition of the trousers is good with limited signs of wear and use. There are no serious flaws or damage and they display well but please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
Altogether a good original pair of war dated trousers in wearable condition. These would male a good addition to any WW2 collection.
This is a vintage item which is 'sold as seen'
