    About this item

A hard to find original pair of British Army denim windproof trousers in good condition.

These windproof trousers are the first pattern to be introduced during the Second World War and were first seen in 1941. They are made from the same green coloured denim material which was used for the two piece overalls, tank suit and other items during WW2. They were only produced at the beginning of the war making them rare to find today. The trousers feature a drawstring waist and a map pocket to the front which fastens with a chocolate brown coloured vegetable ivory (plastic) button - the same as used on battledress. Both the knees and the seat feature reinforcement sections.

The original label is no longer present to the rear but they would have most likely been labelled as a size 3. The trousers are designed to be worn over a uniform so they are cut in a loose manner. The draw string allows the waist to be pulled in and when laid flat they measure -

    Waist - 21"
    Rise - 16"
    Rear rise - 19"
    Inside leg - 30"
    Outside leg - 44 1/2"
    Cuff - 10"

The overall condition of the trousers is good and they are still very wearable with no serious damage or flaws. There is some staining however which is apparent in the pictures. Overall the trousers are bright and fresh although there are some marks etc. There is a repair to one of the openings at the waist through which the drawstring passes and there is another to the outside seam of the left leg. This had been opened by the previous owner to allow access to trousers worn underneath - possibly to access a Faiburn Fighting Knife? Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-owned item which have some flaws commensurate with age.

A good original pair of denim windproof trousers in wearable condition.
