About this item
An original WW2 British Army No. 38 Set Wireless set with matching 1943 dated webbing harness.
This type of radio was introduced into service in 1942 and saw service throughout the rest of the Second World War before being replaced by the MK. 3 version in 1945. Designed as a High Frequency manpack set, these radios were used by various arms of service but most notably the infantry.
The set itself is a standard MK. 2 version which retains a good amount of its original factory paint finish. The top panel features the ariel base, tuning control and off-receive-transmit knob. The original data plate is also present and bears the maker's name of 'M. R. Ltd' which denotes Murhpy Radio as the maker. The signals reference number ZA.13280 is also present.
The radio comes complete with its 'WS set Carrier No. 2' which is a webbing harness specifically designed for the radio. It is in good clean condition and is clearly dated 1943 and maker marked 'B.H.G Ltd'.
Overall a nice set which would make a good basis for a complete set up.
