About this item
FREE POSTAGE TRACKED AND SIGNED in the UK ONLY
This an original set of a British 1941 Patt Khaki drill shorts with a cotton collarless shirt
There are a lot of KD items around on todays market, but these shorts are rare as they are a British made manufacturer, as oppose to the theatre made ones. There are cotton threads where the label has been removed from the left side hip.
They are a standard 1941 pattern with the first aid field dressing pocket on the right hand side, there are an early plastic type buttons, a double belt and brass buckle fastening at the waist
This particular pattern was used by all forces of the British Empire
Made from a tan cotton drill so well suited to the tropic climate, North Africa, Far East, Italy, and the Mediteranean.
Both items have been issued and laundered, many years ago and put in to storage but shows little sign of wear.
The shirt is a collarless type in excellent condition it was a private purchase. It has cufflink cuffs so no buttons. Stud collar 14" and and has the man's name marked inside for the laundry. (Leather) see photo
There is one button missing from the chest. I can include a replacement button of the same size, but it will be a different colour. Or I have a set of three buttons that are the right size but will be all the same colour, but not the original issue colour.
Both these items came together belonging to the same person, where with other items of his indicated he belonged to the 20th Hussars. So I am selling as a tropical set
