Original 1950s French Army M47 Combat Trousers - Size 36x31

An original pair of French Army Model 1947 Trousers dating from the early 1950s which are in good condition.

This pattern of trousers was introduced in the immediate post-war years and saw service in Indochina and the Algerian War amongst others. These trousers are the third pattern which are referred to as the 1953 modification and were the second pattern produced between 1953 and 1959. 

The trousers are made from a heavy weight, hard wearing twill cotton and feature slash pockets to the hips, cargo pockets to the side of each leg, tabs at the bottom of the legs and two rear pockets. Brown coloured plastic buttons are fitted throughout whilst belt loops fitted around the waist. The knees feature reinforced sections which are made from the same twill material. 

Inside the trousers the original stamps are all still just legible and states the size as 35. The maker's name is also present. 

The trousers will suit around a 36" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measure -

Waist - 18"
Rise - 14 1/2"
Rear rise - 18"
Inside leg - 30 1/2"
Outside leg - 43"
Cuff - 10 1/4"

The trousers are in good condition with limited signs of previous wear and use. They display well and are totally wearable but please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-owned item and may have small issues consummate with their age.
