    About this item

An original British Army Entrenching Tool consisting of head and helve.

This was made in Cannock and features what appears to be two different regimental numbers stamped directly onto the tool. The tool is maker marked although it is hard to read. The word 'Cannock' is visbile so a maker based in that part of the country. The helve has had a hole drilled into it to allow it to be worn with a lanyard. It is smaller than those made in the Second World War and the correct item to fit your 1908 pattern web set.

The overall condition is good with some signs of wear and age.

A nice original Great War example.
