Original 1956 Dated US Army M1951 Combat Trousers
An original pair of M1951 Pattern United States Army Combat Trousers dating from 1956 and in good condition.
Officially designated 'Trousers, Men's, Cotton, Wind Resistant Sateen', these trousers were part of the new M51 uniform system introduced in the early 1950s. The fly fastens with a brass 'Rapid' branded zipper and there are belt loops and waist adjusters about the waist. Pull cords are fitted to the cuff of each leg to allow the cuff to be drawn in around the boot.
Inside the trousers the original marking are still present. The size is marked as regular medium and the date of 13 November 1956 s also present. When laid flat the trousers measure -

Rise - 14 1/2"
Rear rise - 20 1/2"

Outside leg - 42"
Cuff - 10"
