    About this item

An original pair of 1959 dated 'Shorts Drill Green Gurkhas' in good condition.

These shorts are made from the standard dark green coloured cotton drill used for Jungle Green shorts during the Second World War and into the 1960s. The shorts are a cut in a typical mid-century manner featuring a high rise waist with button fly, twin pleats to the front, slash pockets in the side seam and a large cuff.

Inside the shorts the original label is still present and states the size as 12 which will fit a 33-34" waist. The makers name 'B. S. & W. Fieldman & Co Ltd is present as is the 1959 date and the War Department broad arrow marking.

When laid flat the shorts measure -

    Waist - 16"
    Rise - 16"
    Rear rise - 19"
    Inside leg - 7"
    Outside leg - 20"
    Cuff - 17"

The shorts are in very good condition as can be seen in the pictures. They appear to have been starched at some stage giving them a crisp and sharp look. They are a vintage item however so may have small issues commensurate with age.

A very nice pair of shorts in great condition and with a great label!
