Original 1976 Dated US Military ERDL Camouflage Ripstop Trousers - Size 35x30

An original pair of 1976 dated Vietnam War era United States Army tropical combat trousers in ERDL camouflage.

These trousers are a genuine issue pair which are constructed from lightweight, wind resistant rip-stop cotton poplin, intended for use in tropical environments such as South East Asia. The ERDL camouflage pattern is the green-dominant type, as widely worn by US Army and US Marine Corps personnel during the later stages of the Vietnam War and into the immediate post-war period. The trousers feature a zipped fly which fastens with a brass 'Scovill' branded zipper. Adjustable waist tabs are also present along with two front slash pockets, two rear buttoned pockets and large cargo pockets to each thigh. The ankle drawstrings remain present for blousing over boots, as originally intended.

The trousers retain their original internal labels including the size label which states 'Medium Regular'. The main label is also still present and bears the title 'Trousers, Man’s, Camouflage, CTN. W/R Rip-Stop Poplin, Class 2' below which is the contract number DSA 100-76-C-0135 which denotes that they were made in 1976. The manufacturer's name of 'R. H. Ferguson Mfg. Co.' is also present.

The trousers will suit a 35" waist and when laid flat measure –

Waist - 17 1/2"
Rise - 11 1/2"
Rear rise - 16 1/2"
Inside leg - 30"
Outside leg - 41 1/2"
Cuff - 10"

The trousers are in good condition for their age and remain structurally sound and are totally wearable. There is some staining which may clean out as well as a hole to the lower leg as illustrated in picture 13. There is also a small nick to the right cargo pocket which is illustrated in picture 12. Overall they display well but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-worn item which may have other small issues commensurate with age.
