About this item
An original pair of Royal Navy White Duck Cotton Work Trousers dating from the Second World War and in good condition.
This pattern of trousers was issued to members of the Royal Navy from the mid 1930s and throughout the Second World War. They are made from a heavy duck cotton canvas which is a very hard wearing fabric. They were designed to be used for particularly dirty tasks.
The trousers style have their roots in the 19th century still retaining the flap front and lace back to the rear. The buttons feature a plated finish and the rear lace is made of cotton. The legs are cut very wide, much wider than earlier examples and have a 'bell bottom' shape. Inside the original owner's name is stencilled and reads 'J. H. Adams'.
When laid flat the trousers measure -
Waist - 15 1/2
Rise - 16"
Rear rise - 18"
Inside leg - 29"
Outside leg - 43 1/2"
Cuff - 13"
The trousers are in good condition with only limited signs of wear and age. Please study the pictures for the best idea of the condition.
A nice pair of original WW2 period Royal Navy trousers with some great details.
