Original WW2 US Army Kersey Lined Trousers - Size 38x32

An original pair of United States Army Kersey lined trousers dated 1941 which are in good, used condition.

This pattern of trousers was introduced in the early part of the Second World War as part of a two piece cold weather set of clothing. They are made from an olive drab coloured cotton twill outer material with a kersey wool lining designed for wear in colder climates. This pattern was introduced prior to America's entry into the Second World War and would have seen use during the early years of the conflict. The trousers feature a simple straight leg cut and a button fly front. Slash pockets are fitted to the hips and a small watch pocket is located to the right side of the waistband. Belt loops are fitted around the waistband allowing the trousers to be worn with a belt.

Inside one of the rear pockets of the trousers the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It bears the title 'Trousers, Kersey-Lined Plain Type' and features the maker's names of 'Joseph H. Cohen & Sons' and 'Vanity Clothes Inc'. The contract details are also present along with a date of March 30th 1941 and the size of 38 x 32.

The trousers will suit someone of around a 38" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat they measure -

Rise - 14 1/4"
Rear rise - 19 1/4"
Inside leg - 31 3/4"
Outside leg - 44"
Cuff - 10 1/2"

The trousers are in good condition for their age and display well overall. They show signs of wear and use with areas of staining and discolouration as can be seen in the pictures. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that these are vintage, pre-worn trousers which may have small issues commensurate with age.
