    About this item

An original pair of United States Army Officers OD 51 Trousers dating from the Second World War.

Made from the standard regulation O.D. Dark Elastique material shade 51, these trousers were a popular choice with officers during WW2. They were worn in place of the shade 54 'pinks' trousers as part of the winter service uniform and matched the colour of the tunics worn during this period. This example features a typically wide 1940s leg, brass 'Talon' brand zipper to the fly, belt loops, slash pockets to the hips, twin rear pockets and a small ticket pocket to the waist. All the features are typical of WW2 regulation Officers pants.

When laid flat the trousers measure -

    Waist - 15 1/2"
    Inside leg - 30"

The trousers are in well worn condition and were clearly used as a pair of working trousers. Some flyers chose to wear their winter uniform trousers for flying so these could be usable for a mannequin or impression of that ilk. There are various period repairs and plenty of wear which is reflected in the price. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.

Whilst not the finest pair of trousers they are original and clearly saw plenty of action at the time!
