    About this item

A rare pair of original British Officers Khaki Drill Trousers dating from the early part of the 20th Century.

These trousers are a very early example which date from between 1900 and the 1920s. They are made from a khaki coloured sanforized cotton like most KD items from this period and are cut in a typically Edwardian fashion with a narrow leg, high rise waist with flat front and fishtail rear. They feature straight slash pockets to each side seam and a button fly. There are also buttons fitted to the waist to support braces and a name tag to the interior. The materials and construction are commensurate with clothing manufactured in the early part of the 20th Century making them ideal for someone collecting Great War era uniform.

The rear of the trousers feature a cinch-back belt and buckle. The buckle is held on by a button and was designed to be removed when the trousers were laundered.  All the other buttons are present with the uppermost fly button being broken.

The trousers will suit a 33" waist and when laid flat they measure -

    Waist - 16 1/2"
    Rise - 14"
    Rear rise - 19 1/2"
    Inside leg - 30 1/2"
    Outside leg - 42 1/2"
    Cuff - 8 1/2"

The trousers are in great condition especially when considering their age. They only have limited signs of wear and use and are still very sound and wearable. They display very well indeed but do study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a pre-worn pair of vintage trousers and may have small issues commensurate with their age.

A scarce pair of early Khaki Drill trousers in excellent condition. These would make a great addition to any collection without a doubt.
