Scarce Original WW2 Windproof Trousers (Labrador Type) - Size 2

A scarce original pair of 'Windproof Trousers, Labrador Type' dating from the Second World War. 

These trousers were issued alongside the 'Outer Anorak (Labrador Type)' and pre-date the standard windproof pattern more commonly found. The trousers are made from a brown coloured tight weave cotton gabardine and feature a map pocket to the left thigh, a similar, but smaller, patch pocket to the rear, a drawstring waist and ties to the cuff which are still present - This is notable as they are often removed. 

To the rear of the trousers the original label is still present and is still partially legible. The label bears the title of 'Trousers Windproof (Labrador Type) below which is the size of 2. date is no longer legile but the type font is consistent with wartime examples previously offered by Blighty Militaria.

The trousers are designed as an over-trouser and are therefore cut in a loose, over-size manner. When laid flat they measure - 

Waist - 23 1/2"
Rise - 18"
Rear rise - 19 1/2"
Inside leg - 31"
Outside leg - 46 1/2"
Cuff - 11"

The trousers are in good condition with some signs of wear and use. Overall they display well and are totally wearable with no serious flaws or damage, aside from some staining and rust marks as well as a couple of very small holes. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing as these trousers are a vintage, pre-worn item which have some small flaws commensurate with age. 

A good original pair of this rare pattern of windproof trousers, complete with their original label. A must have for the serious collector!
