About this item
An original Second World War period British Army camouflage scrim net.
These were often worn as scarves and many period photographs taken in Normandy etc show them being worn in this way. Introduced in 1942, as a means to aid personal concealment, intended to be fitted over the man's back and shoulders to break up the outline of his shape and his equipment.
This example came with a uniform grouping and is a guaranteed original item and is not a reproduction. It is good, used condition and displays well. It features the camouflage pattern where the brown is consitently joined. This is associated with wartime produced scarfs.
A sought-after original piece of soldiers personal kit from the Second World War.
