A scarce pair of original Great War British Army ordinary ranks cotton braces which are in good, well used condition.
This pattern of braces was issued to the rank and file during the Great War but are very rare to find today. They are made from white coloured cotton webbing and feature a distinctive 6 tooth design which denotes them as being from the First World War. Leather tabs are present and feature metal rivets which are maker marked 'Climax Washer'. One of them is a replacement which appears to have been done a long time ago.
The original maker's stamp is still present although it is faint. The shape is consistent with Great War manufacture.
The braces are in honest, well used condition. They were clearly issued and worn and have a fantastic look to them.
