About this item
A 1913 dated Royal Engineer’s Parade Tunic with a nicely matched pair of 1915 dated Trousers,
The Tunic is tailored in a scarlet material, perhaps Melton wool, and closed by a single row of nine Royal Engineer’s brass buttons by W. Twigg, Birmingham. Each cuff terminates with a blue black velvet cloth piped with golden cord rising in an ornate fashion. The high collar is closed by two hooks and eyes, the collar itself with a matching blue black velvet material and golden piping.
Shoulder straps are in an identical golden cord.
Inside, the Tunic is part lined and most importantly retains it’s original 1913 dated paper label, “R.E.Tunic”.
Condition is very good + with no moth or other damage.
The Trousers are constructed in a dark blue material, the leg with a boot cut and piped with a single red pencil stripe to the outsides. All buttons are dished steel and present along with the original paper label “Tweed Infantry, Size number 8, 1915”. Excellent condition with no moth or other damage I could find.
