About this item
An original pair of Indian British Army short puttees as worn Throughout the Second World War.
Puttees saw widespread issue in both the Middle East and Far East theatres of war but were also used by other units such as the SAS in North West Europe.
This short style of puttees is very similar to the longer pattern used during the Great War and Inter-war period with the main difference being that they are shorter in length. They are made from a serge wool and feature a khaki green coloured tape which is used to secure them. The wool is very crudely made which is typical of Indian made items from this period.
The condition of the puttees is reasonably good and they display well. There is some limited moth damage as is often the case with original examples. They are not perfect with some flaws commensurate with age.
A nice original piece of wartime clothing which is hard to find. A good addition to your British Army collection!
This is a vintage item which is 'sold as seen'
