Original Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) long-sleeve combat shirt manufactured during the early years following Zimbabwean independence. Constructed in the distinctive Rhodesian-derived Brushstroke camouflage pattern, featuring the Zimbabwe bird national emblem on the upper sleeve, signifying issue after 1980. This transitional uniform reflects the continuity of equipment and clothing immediately after independence, when existing Rhodesian camouflage remained in service before later pattern and insignia changes were introduced. Early ZDF-issued Brushstroke uniforms were only produced and issued for a relatively short period, making original examples increasingly sought after by collectors of Southern African militaria.
