Original WWII Civil Defence / NFS blue wool skirt dated 1943 and manufactured by Blond Brothers.
The internal label is marked:
“SKIRT C.D. (A.R.P. 72) or SKIRT N.F.S. 81”

The skirt also carries a War Department broad arrow stamp to the inner waistband together with date letter “N”, corresponding correctly with the 1943 dated label.
Constructed from a dark blue wool cloth in classic A-line form. A very good original wartime example.
The waist laid flat measures approximately 13.5 inches (approx. 27 inch waist overall), making it slightly smaller than the original labelled size, likely due to minor age shrinkage over time. Interestingly, the side pocket still remains tacked closed, suggesting the skirt may never actually have been worn.

Condition is very good overall with only one tiny pinhead-sized moth hole to the rear near the poppers. Otherwise a very clean and attractive wartime skirt.
