About this item
A 112 year old Major's full dress tunic made by the London Tailors W.I Carver and made in 1912
A black fine wool single breasted tunic, with a white collar and cuffs. It has a gilt braid trim. The collar has silver and enamel Royal Army Service Corp collar dogs. Gilt twist cord straps/eppaulettes. With Major's crowns.
Signs of stitch loops that are wide enough to accomodate WW1 trio medal mounting.
Cream lining that is showing its age in the armpits and collar. The black co;;ar lining has come unstitched.
The exterior is in excellent condition with no moth that I can see. However the stitching attaching the collar has come undone on the rear righthand side
Braid is in excellent condition also
Adris, Odris, Haris, Daris, Paris, Raris or Idris is the surname written in the label, can't quite make out the first letter. So would make a nice research project.
