About this item
Very rare, possibly unique Scottish pattern tunic to a Lieutenant of the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders. William Anderson & Sons, Edinburgh & Glasgow label named to Lt W D Elliott and dated July 1915. Complete with all brass Cameron Highlanders buttons.
Not to be confused with a blue patrol tunic. This tunic is made from dark blue wool, cut away front, integral belt, ticket pocket, Highland cuffs and open collars. In fact identical to the service dress tunic in every way other than the colour. Kitchener Blue was still being worn due to khaki material shortages until late 1915. The tunic is in very good condition (minor moth tracking) and hardly worn. A classic and incredibly rare Kitchener Blue Officers WW1 tunic. Size 35 inch chest.
Walter Douglas Elliott entered France on Oct 22nd 1915 and finished the war as a captain remaining with the Cameron Highlanders.
