An interesting original private purchase monsoon cape dating from the Second World War.
This cape came as part of an officers uniform grouping and belonged to a man who served in the tropics. It is clearly of private purchase origin and is very different to issue monsoon capes. It is cut in a less voluminous way than the issue examples but does feature a stand and fall collar as well as arm holes which fasten with buttons. The cape is made from a rubberised material, with the rubberised side being the blue checked pattern interior!
The cape is in good condition and is still very soft and pliable. There are no signs of flaking, cracking or hardening, which vintage rubberised items often suffer from. There are some limited signs of wear and use etc which are to be expected. Please study the pictures before purchasing.
A nice original WW2 item with some great details.
