About this item
An original Second World War period Royal Navy Ratings 'Jumper, Serge' which belonged to a seaman who served with the Fleet Air Arm.
This jumper is a private purchase example so it is impossible to date exactly. It follows the same pattern as the jumpers produced by the admiralty throughout the 1940s and into the early 1950s and features a label which has typical period graphics. The jumper features indigo coloured cotton drill linings to the cuffs which fasten with buttons. It is fitted with an original Fleet Air Arm Aircraft Handler badge to the top of the left sleeve which is clearly original to the jacket.
The jumper is a medium size and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 20 1/2"
Inside arm - 20 1/2"
Outside arm - 24"
The jumper is in reasonable condition for its age with plenty of signs of wear and use etc. It displays very well but does have two large period repairs to the front and other wear. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-owned item.
