    About this item

An original 1970 dated United States Army OG-107 Jungle Fatigue Shirt which belonged to a soldier of the First City Rifles at the Recondo Airborne School.

This pattern of shirt saw widespread issue during the Vietnam War period and is instantly recognisable today. It is made from a ripstop poplin cotton which was cutting edge technology at the time. The front of the shirt fastens standard US Army plastic buttons and four patch pockets are located to the front of the shirt, which again fasten with the same type of buttons. The pockets feature an inverted box pleat which allows them to expand.

The shirt comes complete with its original patches including a 'First City Rifles' patch above the left breast pocket and another to the left sleeve. Above this are the Airborne and Recondo titles. There is also evidence of where a name tag was removed from above the right breast pocket.

Inside the shirt still retains both of its labels. The one fitted to the neck bears the size of 'Small - Regular' which is designed to fit between a 33" and 37" chest. The second label bears the title 'Shirt, Man's, Cotton, W/R Ripstop, Poplin, OG-107, Class 1'. As well as this it bears the DSA number of 100-70-C-0155 which dates the shirt to 1970.

The shirt will suit around a 38" chest and when laid flat it measures -

    Chest - 21"
    Inside arm - 20"
    Outside arm - 22 3/4"
    Shoulders - 17 1/2"
    Length at back - 29 1/2"

The shirt is in good condition for its age with only limited signs of wear. It displays well and is still totally wearable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a pre-owned military jacket which may have small flaws commensurate with age.

A nice original jacket complete with original patches.
