Original WW2 US Army First Pattern HBT Jacket - Size 36

An original early Second World War first pattern American HBT Jacket in a size 36.

This early pattern of US Herringbone Twill jacket was used throughout the Second World War by The US Army, The USAAF and more. It features the distinctive double buttons and waist adjusters to the waistband which are synonymous with this pattern. Metal 'doughnut' buttons are fitted throughout save for one of the front buttons which is a similar period replacement. To the front of the jacket are two pleated breast pockets and the cuffs function, fastening with metal doughnut buttons. 

The jacket would have originally been tagged as a size 34 but will easily fit a 36" chest. When laid flat it measures - 

Chest - 20"
Inside arm - 21"
Outside arm - 23"
Shoulders - 17 1/2"
Length - 27"

The condition of the jacket is reasonably good overall but it does have plenty of signs of wear and use as well as numerous repairs. There are some rust marks to the inside  below the collar as well as some to the rear which are illustrated in the pictures. It is still very wearable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn jacket which has some issues commensurate with his. 

This early jacket could be a nice addition to any WW2 collection and has a great used look to it
